What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a gentle energetic healing technique using "universal life energy." It is applied by the laying of hands, allowing the flow of specific frequencies of subtle healing energy from nature to the client through the reiki practitioner.   Reiki helps to harmonize the body, mind and spirit and assist the healing of physical, mental and spiritual issues.  It also works well in conjuction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.  There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive a Reiki treatment or a Reiki attunement. As in any healing the first step towards a healthier life is a desire to be healed.

A Reiki Treatment
A typical Reiki treatment usually consists of the recipient laying on a flat surface such as a massage table fully clothed.  The practitioner then applies Reiki to specific energetic power centers of the recipients body to conduct healing energy.  These energetic power centers are similar to the ones found in many indigenous healing modalities.  Many practitioners use the standard hand positions and commonly a full treatment is given covering all the important organs of the body.  There is no pressure on the body making it ideal for treating all ages and conditions, sometimes hands are even held away from the body. The energy flows wherever it is and can normally be felt as a warm sensation or tingling in the body. Receiving Reiki is a very relaxing and soothing experience!

Treatment can last an hour or longer depending on the treatment required.  Because of the gentle yet effective nature of Reiki, more than one session is suggested for long term effects.
It is suggested that you get at least 6 treatments.
